KOGA MTB Beachrace Zeeland.
On the 5th of Februari a new mountainbike beachrace will be organised in Zeeland nearby Renesse.
The organisation of the event in Noordwijk, Exventure, shall also produce this new event. This event will be part of the KNWU Lotto mountainbike beachracecompetition, because of this, the top level mountainbikers will also be participating during this race. Mountainbike beachraces are immensely popular during the winter. The key to this success is the fact that pro’s and amateurs will compete against each other, therefore creating a complete event for any mountainbiker.
Manufacturer KOGA will be the main sponsor of this event. Harald Troost of KOGA:’ We already were enthusiastic co-sponsor for 4 years of the mountainbike beachrace in Noordwijk. When the same organisation indicated that they would start a likewise event in Zeeland, was the moment for us we joined in as main sponsor of this event. With the KMC-Mitsubishi-Koga mountainbiketeam riders, Ramses Bekkenk, Bram Rood and Stedan Vreugdenhil, we have some of the most talented beachracers. Beside the team we have the successful KOGA beachracer in our assortment. This revolutionary bike is specially designed for beachraces. At this moment the bike is a must have in the beachrace discipline.

Rules of KOGA MTB Beachrace Zeeland.
- Participants have to finish the whole race in order to be included in the race results.
- Participants are required to wear a hard shell helmet.
- The wheel number of the participants must be visible at all times.
- Participants are not allowed to be pulled by another participant or vehicle. Also drafting behind cars or motors is not allowed.
- The participants are expected to know the course as well as the signs.
- The organization is not liable for the participants getting lost.
- The front and rear wheel can be no bigger than 29 inches, according to the regulations of the KNWU.
- The participants must be 16 years or older at the time of the event.
- If the event is canceled not due to organizational reasons, half of the entry fee will
- Participants who misbehave, do not comply with the traffic regulations, or do not
follow directions from the police and the organization, can be excluded from further participation.
- Participants have to follow the instructions of the lifeguards and the organization without delay.
- The organization is in no way liable for accidents or damage or loss and/or theft of personal items.
13 Participants have to respect other Beach users, nature, and the environment.
14 Participants declare that by participating in the event that they are healthy enough
to finish the tour and that they have a proper bicycle

The entry fee is E 17.50 for KNWU members and E 20.00 for non members because of their KNWU insurance. Registration on the race day itself is limited and costs 25 euro.
Technical regulations KOGA MTB Beachrace Zeeland.
1.1. The race will be driven on mountainbikes
1.2. The bicycle must be maintained and in a good safe condition.
1.3. Participants are responsible for bringing their own safe bike.
2.1. All frame sizes are allowed.
2.2. Frames must be free of cracks at the start of the match. If a crack appears during
the match the bicycle must be removed from the contest.
2.3. Frames fitted with rear suspension are allowed, provided that it is safe.
2.4. The crankset should be free from any slack.
2.5. All variants of pedals and click systems are allowed, provided they are in good

3.2. The front fork must be in good condition and mounted in the frame without slack.
4.1. Rim and disc brakes are allowed.

Wheels and Tires
5.1. Only 26-29 inch wheels are allowed.
5.2. Tire width is unrestricted, provided that the wheel does not drag.
5.3. Wheels must be free of slack.
5.4. Tubeless tires are allowed.
5.5. In addition to wire spoke wheels, only carbon wheels which are allowed at UCI
matches are permitted.
6.1. Aero-bars and attachments are not allowed.
The course will start at the seaside near Beachclub Perry’s on the beach.
The participants will ride towards the south and will go near Kijkduin off the beach, between the two pavilions.
At the bottom of the path will the participants take a left turn onto the concrete plates towards beachclub Perry’s . After that will they take a right turn onto the beach. They will ride again through the start/finish and then go towards the south.
